On her return to England, she trained as a midwife at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and went on to do innovative work in natural childbirth and, as a sister, created initiatives for teenage mothers. She worked for a year in Athens and then, after time out to have her own daughter, worked as a Midwife at the John Radcliffe Hospital, then at the Dunedin Hospital in Reading.

After a period as a Deputy Sister in a school, she returned to the Dunedin Hospital to work in the outpatients department, subsequently becoming the manager of the department. It was here she developed her interest in dermatology, becoming a specialist dermatology nurse.

Sarah’s interests are textiles, art, and gardening.
